When she was a child, her parents planted magnolias in their garden. Ever since then, she would spend days lying in the grass beneath those trees. Her favorite season was when the lawn was covered with lilies of the valley and petals fell from the magnolias. She would gaze at the blue sky and dream, dream:

— that the boy from the next class would write to her tomorrow,

— that she could shrink and live inside a bud,

— that the clouds would float right into her window, and she would watch them from under the blanket and wonder: is that a fluffy ship, or a crocodile?

It was this very garden that taught her to dream, and she never lost that ability for a single day in her adult life. Especially when she saw magnolias in the city, she would lie down wherever she could and dream, dream:

— that all her friends would gather in her home,

— that there would always be a few musician friends of friends at parties,

— that conversations would last until morning,

— that the blooming garden in her heart would always be fresh
